I have a different problem if someone can help. I just got a 2000 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo. The air conditioner works great on the left side. The 2 vents on the passenger side above the glove box blow weak. The air is cold but very weak compared to the left. I’m comfortable driving. My wife on the other hand in the passenger seat isn’t. Plus we live in Arizona. It’s hot ! Also there is no cabin filter. Thanks.

Two screws and one electrical connection and the electric fan pulls out. Wouldn't that make the job quite a bit easier? (Ah. I see you do this around the 12 minute mark.) How about cutting the old return line off of the reservoir instead of buying a new one? New reservoir cost vs new hose cost (if you even needed that 3/4" of hose for proper routing). Did you just put six quarts of oil in that engine? Isn't that overfilling it? I guess, if it doesn't go over the full mark, you're okay. If you go over the full mark, I was taught you will blow out your seals.

It would be easier if you can use a cable cutter. They are extremely useful for larger diameter cables and coax. The design of these cutters cut cables straight and clean, leaving no crushed or frayed wires. Channel Lock or Klein Tools make the best cutters and are made in the USA.

I don't see any troubleshooting technique. Just throw part on there is not the way to fix it. That bypass return valve is rarely goes bad.

Clean the dry lock tite off the threads of the set bolt, and dry the hole for that set bolt with brakes cleaner of any oil film when you are ready to lock tite it on re-assembly.

UPDATE: I first posted 3 years ago... 117K now on my 2.8 engine running solid, turbo sounds ok, no leaks, catch can has been emptied every oil change ( about 5-8 ounces each pull, yes i measured ) Im happy knowing that all that gunk has not gone back into the breathing parts of the engine. one thing to take note, bolts holding exhaust pipe to exhaust end of turbo fall out. labor intensive to put those bolts back in. GM has replacement kit bolts that are more secure. if bolts fall out, your mpg wont be affected but your regen cycle will increase by 50%, mine regens about 300 miles, when bolts fell out it dropped to 200 miles, now fixed and back up to 300 miles.
